On 29 December 2022, the Acting Consul – General of Thailand to Kota Bharu presided over the inauguration ceremony of Thai Corner at the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) , Bachok Campus. The ceremony is a part of series of activities to honor and celebrate H.M. Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother’s 90th Birthday Anniversary in the year 2022 both in Thailand and in Thai diplomatic missions abroad.
On this occasion, the Royal Thai Consulate – General in Kota Bharu handed over a selection of books on various aspects of Thailand, especially those on The Queen Mother, the Royal Family, Thai history, Thai cuisine, language books, etc., and some Thai decorative handicraft items to the University.
The ceremony was co-chaired by Dr. Burhan Bin Che Daud, Dean of the Faculty of Language Studies and Human Development and was attended by Dr. Marwan Bin Ismail, Deputy Dean forAcademic and Student Development, Dr. Asmah, Head of the Department of General Studies, and other faculty members including Mr. Eh Dam A/L Eh Sut, staff member of the Royal Thai Consulate – General.
