วันที่ 1 พฤษภาคม 2568 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้เป็นประธานในงานประเพณีสงกรานต์ ครั้งที่ 17 ที่วัดเทพจันทราราม วัดไทยแห่งแรกและแห่งเดียวของรัฐตรังกานู ประเทศมาเลเซีย ซึ่งก่อตั้งโดยดาโต๊ะจันทร์ สุขสวัสดิ์ ประธานถาวรสมาคมลอยกระทงกัวลา ตรังกานู งานครั้งนี้ได้รับเกียรติจาก Dr. Balachandran Gopal Krishnan ผู้แทนพิเศษสำหรับกิจการที่มิใช่อิสลาม สำนักงานมุขมนตรีรัฐตรังกานู โดยภายในงาน มีการจัดกิจกรรมต่าง ๆ ตามประเพณีไทย อาทิ การสรงน้ำพระพุทธรูป การรดน้ำดำหัว การแสดงฟ้อนรำพื้นบ้าน และการเล่นสาดน้ำกันอย่างสนุกสนาน การจัดงานครั้งนี้นับเป็นการสืบสานและเผยแพร่ประเพณีและวัฒนธรรมอันดีงามของไทยในหมู่ชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายสยาม (คนสยาม) จีน อินเดีย และมุสลิม รวมทั้งคนไทยที่พำนักอยู่ในตรังกานูและพื้นที่ใกล้เคียง โดยปีนี้ สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้มอบเงินจำนวน 11,990.72 ริงกิต เพื่อร่วมสนับสนุนการจัดงานดังกล่าวด้วย
Consul-General presided over the Songkran Festival at Wat Thepchanthararam, the first and only Thai Temple in Terengganu State
On 1 May 2025, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, presided over the 17th Songkran Festival at Wat Thepchanthararam in the State of Terengganu, the first and only Thai temple in Terengganu, Malaysia founded by Datuk Eh Chan Tom, Permanent Chairman of Kuala Terengganu Loykrathong Association. The event was honoured by the presence of Dr. Balachandran Gopal Krishnan, Special Officer for Non-Islamic Affairs, Office of the Terengganu Chief Minister. Traditional Thai activities were organized as part of the festival, including ceremonial bathing of Buddha statues, respectful pouring of water onto the hands of monks and elders, performing of traditional Thai dance, and joyful water-splashing among participants. This celebration served as a way to preserve and promote the rich Thai heritage, not only within the Malaysian Siamese (Orang Siam) community but also the Chinese, Indian, and Muslim communities, as well as the Thai nationals residing in the Terengganu and surrounding areas. This year, the Royal Thai Consulate-General contributed financial assistance of RM 11,990.72 in support of the event.
