วันที่ 3 กันยายน 2568 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู พร้อมด้วยนางนันทนา นุชนารถ กงสุล (ฝ่ายกิจการพิเศษ) ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะกรรมการชายแดนส่วนภูมิภาค (กชภ.) ไทย - มาเลเซีย ครั้งที่ 117 ที่จังหวัดภูเก็ต โดย พล.ต. อภินันท์ แจ่มแจ้ง ผู้บัญชาการกองพลทหารราบที่ 5/ผู้แทนแม่ทัพภาคที่ 4 และ พล.ต.ดาโต๊ะ ฟาซาล บิน อับดุล ราห์มาน ผู้บัญชาการกองพลทหารราบที่ 2 มาเลเซีย/ผู้แทนผู้บัญชาการ กองกำลังกองทัพบกสนาม ภาคตะวันตก มาเลเซีย เป็นประธานร่วม กชภ. ไทย – มาเลเซีย
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือการส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านความมั่นคงตามแนวชายแดนไทย-มาเลเซีย โดยเฉพาะการรับมือ ภัยคุกคามรูปแบบใหม่ รับทราบผลการดำเนินงานภายใต้การขับเคลื่อนของคณะทำงานทั้ง 6 คณะ อาทิ การฝึกร่วมของคณะทำงานทางบก ทางทะเล และทางอากาศ การป้องกันและปราบปรามอาชญากรรมข้ามชาติ รวมถึงความร่วมมือด้านการจัดการภัยพิบัติ
โอกาสนี้ ฝ่ายไทยได้สรุปภาพรวมการส่งเสริมการอยู่ร่วมกันในสังคมพหุวัฒนธรรมระหว่างชาวไทยพุทธ และชาวไทยมุสลิมในจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทย ด้วยการดำเนินนโยบายและมาตรการต่าง ๆ อาทิ การส่งเสริมโอกาสทางเศรษฐกิจ การสนับสนุนการมีส่วนร่วมของประชาชนและการพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน โดยทั้งสองฝ่ายเห็นสอดคล้องว่ากลไกภายใต้กรอบ กชภ. ไม่เพียงแต่ช่วยเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงตามแนวชายแดน ไทย – มาเลเซีย เท่านั้น หากแต่ยังช่วยส่งเสริมการแลกเปลี่ยนวัฒนธรรมความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างประชาชน และความเคารพซึ่งกันและกันของชุมชนบริเวณชายแดนด้วย
Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu attends the 117th Thailand-Malaysia Regional Border Committee (RBC) Meeting
On 3 September 2025, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, together with Mrs. Nanthana Nutchanart, Consul (Special Affairs), participated in the 117th Thailand-Malaysia Regional Border Committee (RBC) meeting in Phuket Province, Thailand. The meeting was co-chaired by Maj. Gen. Aphinan Jamjang, Commanding General, 5th Infantry Division and Representative of Commanding General of the 4th Army Area, Royal Thai Army and Maj. Gen. Dato' Hj Fazal bin Hj Abdul Rahman, General Officier Commanding 2Nd Malaysian Infantry Division and Representative of Field Commander West, Malaysian Army
Both sides discussed ways to promote security cooperation along the Thai-Malaysian border, particularly in countermeasures against non-traditional secyrity threats. They also acknowledged the progress made under the six Working Groups, including joint training exercises by the Land, Combined Maritime, and Air Working Groups, prevention and suppression of transnational crimes, as well as collaboration in disaster management.
On this occasion, the Thai side presented an overview of efforts to promote peaceful coexistence in a multicultural society between Thai Buddhists and Thai Muslims in Thailand's southern border provinces through various policies and measures, such as fostering more economic opportunities, encouraging public participation and improving infrastructure developments. Both sides agreed that the mechanisms under the RBC framework not only reinforce security along the Thai-Malaysian border, but also promote cultural exchange, good relations between peoples, and mutual respect among border communities.
