นายมาริษ เสงี่ยมพงษ์ รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ นางเอกสิริ ปิณฑะรุจิ ปลัดกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ นายปิยภักดิ์ ศรีเจริญ อธิบดีกรมเอเชียตะวันออกและคณะ ได้เยือนเมืองโกตาบารู รัฐกลันตัน เมื่อวันที่ 3 สิงหาคม 2567 หลังจากเสร็จสิ้นภารกิจติดตามนายกรัฐมนตรีลงพื้นที่อำเภอสุไหงโก-ลก จ.นราธิวาส และเมืองรันเตาปันจัง รัฐกลันตัน ร่วมกับนายกรัฐมนตรีมาเลเซีย

โอกาสนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการฯ ได้พบปะข้าราชการและเจ้าหน้าที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ เพื่อมอบแนวคิดในการปฏิบัติงาน โดยเฉพาะการดูแลคนไทยในรัฐกลันตัน พร้อมทั้งสอบถามและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในประเด็นสำคัญต่าง ๆ รวมทั้งเยี่ยมชมสถานที่ทำการสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ และบ้านพักกงสุลใหญ่ฯ นอกจากนี้ รัฐมนตรีว่าการฯ และคณะ ได้กราบนมัสการเจ้าคณะรัฐกลันตัน และเจ้าอาวาสวัดพิกุลทองวราราม พบปะกับสมาคมชาวสยามรัฐกลันตัน และชุมชนชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายสยาม โดยได้รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปเกี่ยวกับชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายสยาม รวมทั้งเยี่ยมชมการจัดการเรียนการสอนภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทย ณ วัดพิกุลทองฯ รัฐมนตรีว่าการฯ ได้แสดงความขอบคุณอย่างจริงใจต่อชุมชนชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายสยาม ที่เป็นกำลังสำคัญในการอนุรักษ์มรดกทางภาษาและวัฒนธรรมไทยได้เป็นอย่างดีจากรุ่นสู่รุ่น

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand visited Kota Bharu, Kelantan on 3 August 2024

On 3 August 2024, H.E. Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Mrs. Eksiri Pintaruchi, Permanent Secretary for Foreign Affairs, Mr. Piyapak Sricharoen, Director-General, Department of East Asian Affairs, and MFA delegation, visited Kota Bharu, Kelantan after accompanying the Prime Minister of Thailand on a working visit with the Prime Minister of Malaysia to Su-ngai Kolok, Narathiwat, and Rantau Panjang, Kelantan. During his visit, the Minister met with officials and staff members of the Royal Thai Consulate-General to give working guidance, especially on the protection of Thai nationals in Kelantan, and exchange views on several issues. The Minister also took time to see buildings within the Consulate-General compound. Furthermore, the Minister of Foreign Affairs paid respect to the Primate of Kelantan and Abbot of Wat Phikulthong before receiving a briefing on a Siamese community by the Kelantan Siamese Association and observing classrooms at Wat Phikulthong teaching Siamese children Thai language and culture. The Minister expressed his sincere appreciation to the Siamese community for continuing to preserve its cultural heritage through generations.
