วันที่ 16 กุมภาพันธ์ 2568 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ให้การต้อนรับคณะกรรมการหอการค้าภาคใต้ หอการค้าไทย และหอการค้าจังหวัดภาคใต้ ตลอดจนผู้แทนธนาคารแห่งประเทศไทย และมหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย รวมจำนวนประมาณ 80 คน ในโอกาสเยือนรัฐกลันตัน ประเทศมาเลเซีย เพื่อศึกษาดูงานสภาพเศรษฐกิจการค้าชายแดนไทย - มาเลเซีย สภาพพื้นที่รัฐกลันตัน และโครงการก่อสร้างรถไฟรางคู่เชื่อมชายฝั่งตะวันออกของมาเลเซีย (East Coast Rail Link – ECRL) ในส่วนของรัฐกลันตัน

โอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้จัดการประชุมระหว่างอาหารกลางวัน เพื่อให้ข้อมูลภาพรวมโครงการ ECRL แก่คณะกรรมการหอการค้าฯ และได้รับความร่วมมือจากผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานส่งเสริมการค้าในต่างประเทศ ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ เป็นวิทยากรบรรยายออนไลน์ เกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจมาเลเซีย การค้าชายแดน/ ผ่านแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย และโอกาสการค้าการลงทุนไทย – มาเลเซีย หลังจากนั้น กงสุลใหญ่ฯ และคณะฯ ได้เดินทางไปยังสำนักงาน East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) ประจำรัฐกลันตัน โดยมี Dato’ Sri Darwis Abdul Razak ตำแหน่ง Chief Executive Officer, Malaysia Rail Link Sdn. Bhd พร้อมคณะผู้บริหาร ให้การต้อนรับอย่างดียิ่ง คณะกรรมการหอการค้าฯ ได้รับฟังการบรรยายสรุปความคืบหน้าการก่อสร้างโครงการ ECRL โอกาสทางการค้าและผลประโยชน์ร่วมระหว่างมาเลเซียและไทยด้านการขนส่งสินค้าและบริการ โดยการเชื่อมโยงโครงการ ECRL กับระบบรางของไทย รวมทั้งการตอบข้อซักถามต่าง ๆ จากนั้น ได้เดินทางไปเยี่ยมชมความคืบหน้าการก่อสร้างสถานีรถไฟ ECRL ที่เมืองโกตาบารู

Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu organized a study visit to East Coast Rail Link, Kota Bharu Section for the Board of the Southern Chambers of Commerce, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Southern Provincial Chambers of Commerce

On 16 February 2025, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, welcomed 80 members of the Board of Directors of the Southern Chambers of Commerce, the Thai Chamber of Commerce, and the Provincial Chambers of Commerce as well as representatives of the Bank of Thailand and University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce during their study visit to Kelantan, Malaysia. The visit aimed to explore trade opportunities between the Southern Provinces of Thailand and Kelantan and to learn at first hand the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL).

On this occasion, Consulate-General hosted a working luncheon to give the Thai delegation general information about ECRL. The Director of the Office of Commercial Affairs in Kuala Lumpur also briefed online the delegation on Malaysia’s economic situation, cross-border trade with Malaysia, as well as trade and investment opportunities between the two countries. After the working lunch, Dato' Sri Darwis Abdul Razak, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Rail Link Sdn. Bhd, and its management members arranged a briefing for the delegation at the Kota Bharu Office of the East Coast Rail Link, focusing on the overview and latest progress of the ECRL project, trade opportunities and shared benefits in terms of good and passenger transport brought about by connectivity between ECRL and rail networks in Thailand. In addition, the site visit at the ECRL Kota Bharu Station was kindly organized for the Thai business delegation after the briefing.
