วันที่ 8 กรกฎาคม 2556 - นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ YAB Dato’ Haji Ahmad Bin Yakob มุขมนตรี (Chief Minister) รัฐกลันตัน ณ ที่ทำการของรัฐในเมืองโกตาบารู เพื่อแสดงความยินดีต่อการเข้ารับตำแหน่งมุขมนตรีรัฐกลันตัน คนใหม่ ภายหลังการเลือกตั้งทั่วไป ครั้งที่ 13 ของประเทศมาเลเซีย เมื่อวันที่ 5 พฤษภาคม 2556

ในการนี้ ได้มีการสนทนาถึงประเด็นการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองฝั่งประเทศ โดยเฉพาะโครงการเชื่อมต่อเส้นทางรถไฟระหว่างสถานีปลายทางสุไหงโก-ลก กับสถานีตุมปัต ของรัฐกลันตัน เพื่ออำนวยประโยชน์และความสะดวกในการขนส่งสินค้าและผู้โดยสารข้ามชายแดนไทย-มาเลเซีย และการขอให้รัฐบาลรัฐกลันตันดูแลผลประโยชน์ของชุมชนชาวไทยสยามที่อาศัยอยู่ในรัฐกลันตันอย่างต่อเนื่องต่อไป นอกจากนั้น กงสุลใหญ่ได้เชิญให้มุขมนตรีไปเยือนจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ในฐานะที่รัฐกลันตันมีพรมแดนติดต่อกับชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทย ซึ่งมุขมนตรีมีความยินดี โดยจะหาห้วงเวลาที่เหมาะสมเพื่อมาเยือนจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทยต่อไป

On 8 July, 2013 - Consul General Jackrid Kanjanasoon, along with officers of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, paid a courtesy call on YAB Dato’ Haji Ahmad Bin Yakob to congratulate him upon being appointed the new Chief Minister of Kelantan, following Malaysia’s 13^th General Election on 5 May 2013.

On this occasion, Consul General Jackrid discussed with the Chief Minister issues on strengthening the relationship between the peoples of Thailand and Malaysia, especially the railway project connecting Sungai Kolok train station in Narathiwat, Thailand to Tumpat train station in Kelantan, Malaysia to facilitate the transportation of products and people from the two countries.  They also discussed the state of Kelantan’s roles in taking care of the Malaysian Siamese community in Kelantan. Consul General Jackrid took this opportunity to invite the Chief Minister to visit the southern provinces of Thailand, as Kelantan is a state that shares borders with Thailand, and the Chief Minister has welcomed the idea.
