วันที่ 31 สิงหาคม 2556 นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้เป็นประธานในประเพณีแข่งขันกอล์ฟชิงถ้วยรางวัลของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ระหว่างชมรม Friends of Malaysia จากประเทศไทย กับชมรม Friends of Thailand จากประเทศมาเลเซีย ประจำปี 2556 ณ เซาท์เทอร์นฮิลล์ กอล์ฟ แอนด์คันทรี คลับ อำเภอหาดใหญ่ จังหวัดสงขลา โดยประเพณีดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเป็นปีที่ 2 เพื่อเชื่อมความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างชมรมของไทยกับมาเลเซีย และเพื่อการส่งเสริมการท่องเที่ยวในจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทย โดยในปีนี้มีผู้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันทั้งสิ้น 85 คน กงสุลใหญ่ ยังได้ให้โอวาทแก่ผู้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันทุกคนให้คำนึงถึงการกระชับความสัมพันธ์ของทั้งสองชมรมให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น และยินดีที่จะให้ความสนับสนุนการจัดกิจกรรมในลักษณะเช่นนี้อย่างต่อเนื่องต่อไป

The Royal Thai Consulate-General hosted the Friends of Thailand – Friends of Malaysia Golf Competition 2013 on August 31, 3013 at Southern Hills Golf & Country Club at Hatyai District, Songkhla, to strengthen relations between the two associations as well as to promote tourism in the southern provinces of Thailand.  Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon chaired the awards ceremony in the evening for the 85 participants and handed out the Royal Thai Consulate-General Trophy to the winning team.  On this occasion, Consul-General Jackrid delivered a speech to the golfers, emphasizing on the efforts to further strengthen relations between the two associations and welcoming proposals for similar projects in the future.
