วันที่ 13-14 กันยายน 2556 นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู และนายพงศ์ศักดิ์ เทพเรืองชัย กงสุล ได้นำครูอาสาสมัครชาวไทยสยามที่ให้ความช่วยเหลือสถานกงสุลใหญ่ในการสอนภาษาไทยให้แก่เยาวชนมาเลเซีย รวม 47 คน เดินทางมาเยือนถิ่นวัฒนธรรมของจังหวัดนราธิวาส ภายใต้ “โครงการเส้นทางท่องเที่ยวเชิงวัฒนธรรมจังหวัดนราธิวาส ประจำปี 2556 (ครั้งที่ 2)” โดยการสนับสนุนงบประมาณของจังหวัดนราธิวาส เพื่อปลูกฝังและตอกย้ำให้ชนชาวไทยสยามมีความภาคภูมิใจในเชื้อสายไทย และสามารถช่วยดำรงรักษาเอกลักษณ์และวัฒนธรรมไทยไว้ได้ในรัฐกลันตันและตรังกานูต่อไป ทั้งนี้ โครงการดังกล่าวยังถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในของกิจกรรมแลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรมระหว่างประเทศไทย – มาเลเซีย ที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ได้ดำเนินการมาอย่างต่อเนื่องเพื่อการเชื่อมโยงประชาชนตามแนวชายแดนของทั้ง 2 ฝั่งประเทศเข้าด้วยกันเพื่อสนับสนุนและเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงตามแนวชายแดน และรองรับการเป็นประชาคมอาเซียนในอนาคต

สำหรับสถานที่สำคัญที่ไปเยือน ได้แก่ พระตำหนักทักษิณราชนิเวศน์ ศูนย์ศึกษาการพัฒนาพิกุลทอง พิพิธภัณฑ์ท้องถิ่นขุนละหาร ชุมชนบ้านทอน เขาพิพิธมงคล พุทธมณฑลจังหวัดนราธิวาส กลุ่มอัลฮามีนบาติก และวัดชลธาราสิงเห โดยสถานกงสุลใหญ่และสำนักงานวัฒนธรรมจังหวัดนราธิวาสได้มีความเห็นร่วมกันที่จะกระชับจัดกิจกรรมเพื่อเผยแพร่และประชาสัมพันธ์แหล่งท่องเที่ยวของจังหวัดฯ ซึ่งมีอยู่มากมายให้เป็นที่รู้จักของชาวมาเลเซียต่อไป

On 13-14 September, 2013 Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon and Consul Pongsak Thepruangchai took a group of Malaysian Siamese volunteer teachers for a trip to the province of Narathiwat, Thailand under the “2^nd Narathiwat Cultural Tourism Project 2013”, a project sponsored by the province of Narathiwat to promote Thainess and to preserve the Thai culture in Kelantan and Terengganu.  The group consisted of 47 Malaysian Siamese volunteer teachers who have assisted the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Thai language schools in Kelantan in carrying out Thai language programs and giving lessons to Malaysian youth. The project is part of the Consulate-General’s efforts in encouraging cultural exchanges between the bordering regions of Thailand and Malaysia to promote close ties between the people as well as to prepare the people for the integration of the ASEAN Community. 

The group of volunteer teachers visited several locations of historical and cultural importance including Thaksin Rachanivet Palace, Pikunthong Royal Development Study Centre, Khun Laharn Local Museum, Ban Thon community, Mongkol Piphit Hill, Buddhamonthon Narathiwat, Al-Hameen Batik Centre and Chontharasinghe Temple.  The Royal Thai Consulate-General and the Culture Office of Narathiwat will continuously work together to organize cultural programmes and activities to promote tourism in Narathiwat and invite visitors from Malaysia to travel to the various tourist destinations offered.
