วันที่ 5 มีนาคม 2557 นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู เข้าร่วมกิจกรรมสานสัมพันธ์เยอลี-สุคิริน และกิจกรรมจังหวัดนราธิวาสเคลื่อนที่ ซึ่งครั้งนี้จัด ณ โรงเรียนบ้านภูเขาทอง ตำบลสุคิริน อำเภอสุคิริน โดยมีข้าราชการของอำเภอเยอลี (Jeli) รัฐกลันตัน ประเทศมาเลเซีย มาร่วมกิจกรรมด้วย ซึ่งนอกจากมีการให้บริการประชาชนแล้ว ได้มีการหารือร่วมกันเกี่ยวกับความเป็นไปได้ในการเปิดจุดผ่อนปรนระหว่างบ้านภูเขาทองกับอำเภอเยอลี รัฐกลันตัน ในอนาคต เพื่อสร้างโอกาสในการค้าขายและการท่องเที่ยวระหว่างประชาชนทั้งสองฝั่งประเทศ ในการนี้ผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดนราธิวาสยังได้นำคณะข้าราชการอำเภอเยอลีไปร่วมทำนาบนภูเขา (นาขั้นบันได) ณ บ้านยาเด๊ะ ตำบลมาโมง ซึ่งเป็นโครงการในพระราชดำริ ที่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัว ทรงมีพระราชดำริตั้งแต่ปี 2527 และขณะนี้จังหวัดนราธิวาสกำลังพัฒนาให้เป็นจุดท่องเที่ยวแห่งใหม่

On 5 March 2014 Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon joined the district of Sukhirin, Narathiwat province as the district hosted goodwill activities with the district of Jeli, Kelantan and invited the delegation to visit Narathiwat’s one-stop service program which was held at Ban Pukaothong School, Sukirin on the same day.  The one-stop service program was held to bring public services to the people in the district and also included a meeting between local officers on the possibility of opening a special permitted area to enable commuting between Ban Pukaothong and Jeli which will enhance trade and tourism opportunities for the people residing in the Thailand-Malaysia border areas.  The program concluded with a visit to the rice terraces at Ban Ya De in Mamong sub-district, which is a royal project initiated by His Majesty the King of Thailand in 1984 and is currently underway of being developed into Narathiwat’s new tourism destination.
