วันที่ 7 มีนาคม 2557 นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้รับเชิญจากผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานกระทรวงการค้าระหว่างประเทศและอุตสาหกรรมมาเลเซียประจำรัฐกลันตัน ให้

เดินทางไปร่วมให้การต้อนรับ Datuk IR.Hamim Samuri รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงการค้าระหว่างประเทศและอุตสาหกรรมมาเลเซีย (Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry Malaysia/MITI) ที่เดินทางมาเยือนบ้านบูเก๊ะตา อำเภอแว้ง จังหวัดนราธิวาส ซึ่งเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเยือนรัฐกลันตันอย่างไม่เป็นทางการ รวมถึงการตรวจเยี่ยมด่านตรวจคนเข้าเมืองถาวรที่บ้านบูกิต บุหงา (Bukit Bunga) ของมาเลเซีย ซึ่งเชื่อมต่อกับกับด่านบูเก๊ะตา ของอำเภอแว้ง และการมาเยี่ยมชมสะพานมิตรภาพแห่งที่ 2 ระหว่างไทย – มาเลเซีย ที่เปิดใช้เมื่อปี 2550 โดยฝ่ายไทยมีนายสิทธิชัย ศักดา รองผู้ว่าราชการจังหวัดนราธิวาส และหัวหน้าส่วนราชการของจังหวัดนราธิวาส ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ ณ สำนักงานเทศบาลบ้านบูเก๊ะตา

ทั้งนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้ร่วมหารือกันเกี่ยวกับการค้าชายแดนโดยแสดงออกถึงความตั้งใจจริงที่จะกระชับความสัมพันธ์ทางด้านการค้าชายแดนระหว่างประชาชนของทั้งสองฝั่งที่มีอยู่แล้วให้ดียิ่งขึ้นต่อไป รวมถึงการส่งเสริมสินค้าโอทอปของไทยไปยังมาเลเซีย ทั้งนี้ Datuk IR Hamim Samuri มีความประสงค์ที่จะส่งเสริมให้มีการค้าชายแดน ณ จุดผ่านแดนบ้านบูเก๊ะตาเพิ่มขึ้นนอกเหนือจากการค้าชายแดน ณ ด่านสุไหงโก-ลก และตากใบ ก่อนเดินทางกลับ Datuk IR Hamim Samuri ได้เข้าเยี่ยมชมศูนย์โอทอปของอำเภอ และได้พบปะกับกลุ่มแม่บ้านวิสาหกิจชุมชนที่ผลิตสินค้าโอทอป รวมทั้งยังได้ลิ้มรสอาหารไทยที่จัดเตรียมจากกลุ่มแม่บ้านด้วยความประทับใจเป็นอย่างยิ่ง

On 7 March 2014 Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon, together with Narathiwat’s Deputy Governor Sittichai Sakda and chief officers of Narathiwat province, welcomed Datuk IR. Hamim Samuri, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry of Malaysia (MITI) at Buketa Municipality Office (Waeng district, Narathiwat province).  The visit to Buketa was a part of the Deputy Minister’s unofficial visit to the state of Kelantan and included a visit to the CIQ office at Bukit Bunga (Malaysia) which shares borders with the town of Buketa (Thailand).  The visit also included a trip to the 2^nd Thailand-Malaysia Friendship Bridge (Bukit Bunga – Ban Buketa Bridge) which opened in 2007. 

Together, the Thai and Malaysian delegations discussed issues on cross-border trade and promoting closer trade relations, which includes promoting the export of OTOP (One Tambon One Product) products to Malaysia.  On this occasion, Datuk Samuri expressed his will to promote cross-border trade via Buketa checkpoint as an alternative to the Sungai Golok and Takbai checkpoints, and also visited the OTOP Centre of Buketa to meet the group of housewives who are producers of the products and to enjoy the taste of Thai food prepared by the group.
