วันที่ 14 ก.ค.2557 นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู และนายพงศ์ศักดิ์ เทพเรืองชัย กงสุล ได้เดินทางไปร่วมประชุมเพื่อเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการจัดประชุมคณะกรรมการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจพื้นที่ภาคใต้ และคณะกรรมการหอการค้ากลุ่มจังหวัดภาคใต้ 3 กลุ่ม ซึ่งหอการค้าจังหวัดนราธิวาสจะเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดการประชุมระหว่างวันที่ 1-3 สิงหาคม 2557 ณ โรงแรมเก็นติ้ง อำเภอสุไหงโก-ลก โดยคาดว่า จะมีสมาชิกหอการค้าไทย และหอการค้าจาก 14 จังหวัดภาคใต้ เข้าร่วมการประชุมประมาณ 200 คน เพื่อ หารือเกี่ยวกับปัญหาและอุปสรรคในการดำเนินงานของภาคเอกชนในการขับเคลื่อนการพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจในพื้นที่ภาคใต้ให้สอดคล้องกับนโยบายของรัฐบาล และแผนพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจและสังคมแห่งชาติ รวมทั้ง สำรวจความความต้องการของภาคธุรกิจในพื้นที่ภาคใต้เพื่อจัดทำข้อเสนอแนะต่อรัฐบาล ทั้งนี้ การประชุมที่จะมีขึ้นถือเป็นครั้งที่ 2 ในรอบปี 2557 ที่หอการค้าจังหวัดนราธิวาส ร่วมกับหอการค้าไทยจัดขึ้น โดยครั้งนี้จะมีการจัดประชุมกลุ่มนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่ (Young Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Commerce - YEC) ในภาคใต้คู่ขนานกับการประชุมคณะกรรมการด้วย และผู้เข้าร่วมการประชุมได้มีกำหนดเดินทางมาเยือนเมืองโกตาบารูเพื่อรับฟังการบรรยายสรุปของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ฯ เกี่ยวกับปัญหาการค้าชายแดน และเยือนนิคมอุตสาหกรรมฮาลาลที่อำเภอปาเซมัส (Pasir Mas) รัฐกลันตัน

On 14 July 2014, Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon and Consul Pongsak Thepruangchai attended the preparatory meeting for the upcoming Southern Region Economic Development Committee Meeting and the Southern Provinces’ Chambers of Commerce’s Committee Meeting which will be hosted by Narathiwat’s Chamber of Commerce during 1-3 August 2014 at Genting Hotel, Sungai Kolok.  Participants at the meetings will include members of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (Bangkok) and members of the Chambers of Commerce in 14 southern provinces.  The meetings will address issues such as challenges faced by the private sector in driving the regional economy, the national economic and social development plans, and demands of regional businesses.  In addition, the meeting will also include a forum for the “Young Entrepreneurs, Chamber of Commerce” (YEC) as well as a visit to the Royal Thai Consulate-General where Consul-General Jackrid will give a presentation on the challenges of cross-border trade and a visit to Pasir Mas Halal Park, Kelantan.
