เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 18 พฤษภาคม พ.ศ. 2560 ดร. ไพฑูรย์ สงค์แก้ว กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้ไปร่วมพิธีเปิดงาน “50 ปี สุคิริน” ที่อำเภอสุคิริน จ. นราธิวาส นำจัดโดย พ.จ.ท. อนันต์ บุญสำราญ นายอำเภอสุคิริน เพื่อน้อมรำลึกพระกรุณาธิคุณของสมเด็จพระศรีนครินทราบรมราชชนนี (สมเด็จย่า) ที่ได้พระราชทานนามสถานที่นี้ว่า “สุคิริน” มาครบ 50 ปีในวันนี้ ทั้งนี้ มีชาวอำเภอสุคิรินและอำเภอใกล้เคียงเข้าร่วมงานหลายพันคน

On Thursday 18 May 2017, Dr. Paitoon Songkaeo, Consul-General, attended the opening ceremony of “50 Years of Sukhirin” at Sukhirin district of Narathiwat Province. The celebration was held by the district administration to commemorate the day on which the name “Sukhirin” was given to this place 50 years ago today by Somdech Phra Srinagarindra Boromarajajonani, who was grant mother of Thailand’s present King Vajiralongkorn. Thousands of Sukhirin people and those from neighboring districts attended the function.
