เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 31 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2560 ดร. ไพฑูรย์ สงค์แก้ว กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้นำคณะสโมสรไลออนส์แห่งอำเภอทานะห์แมเราะห์ รัฐกลันตัน ไปเยี่ยมโรงเรียนวัดคลองเป็ด ต. ท่าบอน อ. ระโนด จ. สงขลา และได้ร่วมกันเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดทำป้ายชื่อโรงเรียนดังกล่าวใหม่ ต่อมาในวันศุกร์ที่ 1 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2560 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้เป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารเย็นที่ อ. หาดใหญ่เพื่อเป็นเกียรติแด่คณะสโมสรไลออนส์จากรัฐกลันตันดังกล่าว โดยได้เชิญประธานสโมสรไลออนส์ อ. หาดใหญ่และคณะเข้าร่วมรับประทานอาหารและทำความรู้จักกับสโมสรไลออนส์ชาวมาเลเซียด้วย

On Thursday 31 August 2017, Dr. Paitoon Songakeo, Consul-General, led the Lions Club of Tanah Merah district of Kelantan State to visit Wat Klong Ped School in Ranod district of Songkhla Province. The visiting team sponsored the re-construction of the new name board of Wat Klong Ped School, which had been damaged in the last year’s flood. And on following day, Friday 1 September 2017, the Royal Thai Consulate-General hosted a dinner party in Hat Yai district in honor of the Lions Club of Tanah Merah, to which the president of Lions Club of Hat Yai and Hat Yai’s Lions Harmony members were also invited.
