วันที่ 17-18 กรกฎาคม 2569 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารูได้จัดกิจกรรมอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการมวยไทย และการชกมวยไทยมิตรภาพไทย-มาเลเซีย (Muay Thai Workshop and Thailand-Malaysia Friendship Matches) ณ วิทยาลัย Politeknik Kota Bharu รัฐกลันตัน โดยนายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู เป็นประธานกล่าวต้อนรับผู้เข้าร่วมกิจกรรม และได้รับเกียรติจาก YB Tuan Zamakhshari Muhammad ประธานคณะกรรมการเยาวชน การกีฬา องค์กรพัฒนาเอกชน และเอกภาพแห่งชุมชน รัฐกลันตัน เป็นประธานร่วมในพิธีเปิด พร้อมด้วยนาย Muhammad Saipuddin bin Zakaria ผู้อำนวยการกรมเยาวชนและกีฬาแห่งรัฐกลันตัน นาย Mohd Ali Akbar bin Yusoff รักษาการนายกสมาคมมวยไทยรัฐกลันตัน และผู้แทนหน่วยงานภาครัฐที่เกี่ยวข้อง ตลอดจนนักกีฬา เยาวชน และประชาชนผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมกว่า 200 คน

สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ จัดกิจกรรมดังกล่าวเพื่อเผยแพร่มวยไทยในฐานะมรดกทางวัฒนธรรมและอัตลักษณ์ที่สำคัญของประเทศไทย ส่งเสริมการพัฒนาเยาวชน และสนับสนุนให้กีฬาเป็น "สะพานแห่งมิตรภาพ" เสริมสร้างความเข้าใจอันดี แลกเปลี่ยนทางวัฒนธรรม และความสัมพันธ์ระดับประชาชนระหว่างจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทยกับรัฐกลันตัน และรัฐตรังกานู

โครงการดังกล่าวประกอบด้วย 2 กิจกรรมย่อย โดยวันแรกเป็นการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการศิลปะการไหว้ครูมวยไทยและพื้นฐานการชกมวยไทยโดยวิทยากรผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิจากประเทศไทย ได้แก่ ดร. ยงศักดิ์ ณ สงขลา นายเจริญ ชูมณี (เจริญทอง เกียรติบ้านช่อง ตำนานยอดนักมวยไทย) นายวรพจน์ เพชรขุ้ม เจ้าของเหรียญเงินการแข่งขันกีฬาโอลิมปิกเกมส์เอเธนส์ 2004 และนายอับดุลเล๊าะ มะหลี แชมป์โลกและแชมป์ซีเกมส์กีฬาปันจักสีลัต ร่วมถ่ายทอดทั้งทักษะ เทคนิค และคุณค่าของมวยไทยให้แก่ผู้เข้าร่วม สำหรับวันที่สอง เป็นการแข่งขันชกมวยไทยมิตรภาพ จำนวน 25 คู่ โดยนักกีฬาไทยและมาเลเซีย สร้างความตื่นเต้นและได้รับความสนใจจากผู้เข้าร่วมงานเป็นอย่างมาก

การจัดกิจกรรมครั้งนี้ได้รับความร่วมมืออย่างดียิ่งจากสมาคมมวยไทยรัฐกลันตัน และหน่วยงานภาครัฐและเอกชนของรัฐกลันตัน ส่งผลให้การจัดงานประสบความสำเร็จตรงตามวัตถุประสงค์

The Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu Organizes Muay Thai Workshop and Thailand-Malaysia Friendship Matches

On 17-18 July 2026, the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu organized the Muay Thai Workshop and Thailand-Malaysia Friendship Matches at Politeknik Kota Bharu, Kelantan. Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, delivered the welcoming remarks to participants. The opening ceremony was jointly presided over by YB Tuan Zamakhshari Muhammad, Chairman of the Kelantan Youth, Sports, Non-Governmental Organizations, and Community Unity Committee. Also in attendance were Mr. Muhammad Saipuddin bin Zakaria, Director, Kelantan State Youth and Sports Department; Mr. Mohd Ali Akbar bin Yusoff, Acting President, Kelantan Muaythai Association; representatives from relevant government agencies; as well as athletes, youth, and members of the public. More than 200 participants attended the event.

The Consulate-General organized the programme to promote Muay Thai as an important element of Thailand's cultural heritage and national identity, foster youth development, and highlight sports as a "bridge of friendship" to strengthen mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties between Thailand's Southern Border Provinces and the Malaysian States of Kelantan and Terengganu.

The programme comprised two main activities. On the first day, participants attended a Muay Thai workshop featuring “Wai Kru Muay Thai”, the traditional pre-fight ritual, and fundamental Muay Thai techniques. The workshop was conducted by distinguished instructors from Thailand, namely, Dr. Yongsak Na Songkhla; Mr. Charoen Chumanee (Charoenthong Kiat Banchong), legendary Muay Thai champion; Mr. Worapoj Petchkoom, silver medallist at the Athens 2004 Olympic Games; and Mr. Abdullah Malee, World Champion and SEA Games Champion in Pencak Silat. The instructors shared their expertise, technical skills, and the core values of Muay Thai with participants.

On the second day, the event featured 25 Friendship Muay Thai bouts between Thai and Malaysian athletes, generating great excitement and attracting enthusiastic interest from spectators.

The successful organization of the event was made possible through the excellent cooperation of the Kelantan Muaythai Association, together with public and private sector partners in Kelantan, which enabled the programme to achieve its objectives.
