วันที่ 6 เมษายน 2557 ในพิธีแนะนำสมาชิกใหม่ของสโมสรโรตารีโกตาบารู (Induction Ceremony of Rotary Club of Kota Bharu) ซึ่งจัดขึ้น ณ โรงแรม Renaissance เมืองโกตาบารู นายจักรกฤษณ์ กาญจนศูนย์ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้ประชุมร่วมกับสมาชิกโรตารีฯ ที่นำโดย นายตัน เคน เตน (Mr.Tan Ken Ten) ประธานฯ และในการประชุมดังกล่าว กงสุลใหญ่ได้ขอความสนับสนุนงบประมาณจากสโมสรฯ เพื่อนำไปสมทบใน “โครงการ 555 ดวงตาเพื่อชาวสุคิริน ผ่าตัดต้อกระจก เทิดไท้องค์ราชันย์” โดยสโมสรฯ มีความยินดีให้การสนับสนุน อีกทั้งสมาชิกของสโมสรฯ จะเดินทางมาร่วมโครงการด้วยตัวเองเพื่อแสดงออกถึงมิตรภาพ และความร่วมมืออันดีระหว่างประชาชนของทั้ง 2 ประเทศ

“โครงการ 555 ดวงตาเพื่อชาวสุคิริน ผ่าตัดต้อกระจก เทิดไท้องค์ราชันย์” เป็นโครงการเพิ่มคุณภาพชีวิตและเสริมสร้างความเข้าใจอันดีระหว่างประชาชนกับหน่วยงานของรัฐ จัดทำโดยอำเภอสุคิริน จังหวัดนราธิวาส มีกลุ่มเป้าหมายในการให้บริการเป็นประชาชนที่มีปัญหาด้านการมองเห็น ผู้สูงอายุ และประชาชนทั่วไป เริ่มดำเนินโครงการระหว่างเดือนมีนาคม-กันยายน 2557

On 6 April 2014, Rotary Club of Kota Bharu held the Induction Ceremony for the club’s new members at Renaissance Hotel. During the occasion, which was presided by Chairman Tan Ken Ten, the club also had a meeting with Consul-General who delivered a presentation on the project “555 Eyes for Sukhirin: Cataract Surgery for the people of Sukhirin in Honor of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej” which the club has kindly agreed to sponsor. Members of Rotary Club of Kota Bharu will also be travelling to the district of Sukhirin, Narathiwat Province to join the program as an expression of goodwill and cooperation between the people of the Thai-Malaysian border areas.

The project will be organized by Sukhirin District Office during March – September 2014 with the objectives of improving quality of life of Sukhirin’s people and promote better understanding between the people and the public sector. Target groups include individuals with eyesight problems and the general public.
