วันที่ 9 พฤษภาคม 2557 คณะกรรมการ “ศาลเจ้าเกงจู” (Keng Choo Temple) และกลุ่มเพื่อนไทย (Friends of Thailand) ในรัฐกลันตัน ได้ร่วมกันจัดงานประเพณีสงกรานต์ ณ บริเวณลานกิจกรรมของ “ศาลเจ้าเกงจู” อำเภอตาเนาะแมเราะ รัฐกลันตัน และได้เชิญกงสุลใหญ่ไปทำพิธีเปิดงาน ในการนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ได้กล่าวถึงความสำคัญของประเพณีสงกรานต์ของประเทศไทย และกล่าวขอบคุณคณะกรรมการ “ศาลเจ้าเกงจู” และกลุ่มเพื่อนไทยในรัฐกลันตัน ที่ได้ริเริ่มจัดงานประเพณีสงกรานต์ขึ้นในกลุ่มชาวจีน และชาวไทยที่อาศัยอยู่ในพื้นที่อำเภอตาเนาะแมเราะ เป็นครั้งแรก และได้ขอให้ช่วยกันเผยแพร่ประเพณีอันดีงามของไทยนี้ให้เป็นที่รู้จักกันต่อ ๆ ไป

On 9 May 2014, committee members of Keng Choo Temple and members of “Friends of Thailand” of Kelantan held Songkran Festival at Keng Choo Temple, located in the district of Tanah Merah, Kelantan.  Consul-General Jackrid Kanjanasoon was invited to attend the event where he delivered a speech explaining the significance of Songkran festival in Thailand and expressed his gratefulness to the committee members of the temple and “Friends of Thailand” for initiating the celebration of Songkran in the Chinese and Thai community of Tanah Merah as well as encouraged continuous celebration of Songkran in the upcoming years.
