เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 5 สิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2559 นายไพฑูรย์ สงค์แก้ว กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้ไปบรรยายความเป็นมาและหน้าที่ของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ให้พระนวกะชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายไทย (คนสยาม) ในรัฐกลันตัน ประจำปี 2559 จำนวน 58 รูป ฟังที่วัดประชาจีนาราม อำเภอตุมปัต รัฐกลันตัน

On Friday, 5 August 2016 Mr. Paitoon Songkaeo, Consul-General, spoke about the reasons for the setting up of the Royal Thai Consulate-General in 1966 and its present work to a group of the 58 newly ordained Buddhist monks of Malaysian of Thai origin (Siamese) at Wat Prachajinaram, Tumpat District, Kelantan State.
