เมื่อวันพฤหัสดีที่ 20 ตุลาคม พ.ศ. 2559 สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ พร้อมกับชุมชนชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายไทย (คนสยาม) ที่ อ. ตุมปัต รัฐกลันตัน ได้ไปร่วมทำบุญทอดผ้าป่า/ผ้ากฐินตามวัดต่าง ๆ จำนวน 7 วัดใน อ. ตุมปัต, อ. ปาเสร์มัส, และ อ. บาจอก ทั้งนี้ สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ร่วมทำบุญครั้งนี้เพื่ออุทิศส่วนกุศลถวายแด่พระบาทสมเด็จพระเจ้าอยู่หัวในพระบรมโกศในโอกาสการสวรรคตครบ 7 วัน

On Thursday, 20 October 2016, the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Malaysians of Thai origin (Siamese) went to seven Buddhist temples in the districts of Tumpat, Pasir Mas, and Bachok in Kelantan State, which are scheduled to accept the Kathina rope presentation from lay Buddhist devotees as per a Buddhist tradition tomorrow. In this occasion, the group presented offering to all the temple as a sign of their participation in each temple's merit making. For this, the Consulate-General dedicated merit to the late revered king.
