วันที่ 21 ตุลาคม 2569 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้พบปะหารือกับผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร. อัสมัน แตอาลี ผู้อำนวยการสถาบันฮาลาล และคณะอาจารย์จากมหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์ โดยมี ร.ท.หญิง กรรภิรมย์ วิชาธร รองกงสุลใหญ่ และนางสาวกมลรัตน์ สวนแก้ว นักการทูตชำนาญการ (ที่ปรึกษา) เข้าร่วมการพบหารือที่สถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ในโอกาสที่คณะดังกล่าวเข้าร่วมการประชุมเกี่ยวกับฮาลาลที่รัฐตรังกานู ตลอดจนศึกษาดูงานและหารือความร่วมมือทางวิชาการกับ Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) และ Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) รัฐกลันตัน

ดร. อัสมันฯ และคณะอาจารย์นำเสนอภารกิจและบทบาทของสถาบันฮาลาล ที่มุ่งเน้นบทบาทด้านวิชาการ การวิจัย และการจัดหลักสูตรฝึกอบรมที่สนับสนุนฮาลาลไทย สำหรับนักศึกษา ผู้ประกอบการและประชาชนทั่วไป และขอรับการสนับสนุนจากสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ในการอำนวยความสะดวกแก่ฝ่ายมาเลเซีย เพื่อเข้าร่วมงาน 16th World HAPEX, World Halal Products Exhibition ในช่วงเดือนสิงหาคม พ.ศ. 2570 ที่มหาวิทยาลัยสงขลานครินทร์จะเป็นเจ้าภาพหลัก ร่วมกับภาคีที่เกี่ยวข้อง รวมทั้ง UMK ซึ่งสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ พร้อมสนับสนุน โอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้แลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลว่า อุตสาหกรรมฮาลาลถือเป็นสาขาความร่วมมือสำคัญในความสัมพันธ์ไทย – มาเลเซีย และเกี่ยวกับการดำเนินโครงการและกิจกรรมของสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ในห้วงที่ผ่านมา เพื่อช่วยสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการรายย่อย และเศรษฐกิจในจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ของไทย รวมทั้งการเตรียมจัดงานเทศกาลฮาลาลไทยที่รัฐกลันตันในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายน 2569 ซึ่งสถาบันฮาลาลสามารถมีส่วนร่วมได้

Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu Meets with Director of the Halal Institute, Prince of Songkla University

On 21 October 2026, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, met with Assistant Professor Dr. Asman Tae-ali, Director of the Halal Institute, Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and a PSU delegation on the occasion of the delegation’s visit to participate in a halal conference in Terengganu and to explore academic cooperation with Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK) and Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Kelantan. Also attending the meeting at the Royal Thai Consulate-General were Lt. Gunpirom Vichathorn, Deputy Consul-General, and Ms. Kamolrat Suankaew, Counsellor.

Dr. Asman and his delegation briefed the Consul-General on the mission and role of the Halal Institute, which focuses on academic development, research, and training programmes aimed at supporting Thailand’s halal industry. These programmes serve students, entrepreneurs, and the general public. The delegation also sought the Consulate-General’s support in facilitating participation of Malaysian stakeholders in the 16th World HAPEX (World Halal Products Exhibition) scheduled for August 2027. The event will be hosted by Prince of Songkla University in collaboration with relevant partners, including UMK. The Royal Thai Consulate-General expressed its readiness to support the initiative.

On this occasion, the Consul-General highlighted that the halal industry remains an important pillar of Thailand-Malaysia cooperation and shared information on the Consulate-General’s activities in recent years to support small-scale entrepreneurs and promote economic development in the Southern Border Provinces of Thailand. In addition, he briefed the delegation on preparations for the Thai Halal Festival in Kelantan to be held in November 2026, noting that the Halal Institute could play a role in the event.
