วันที่ 4 มิถุนายน 2569 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู เข้าร่วมการประชุมเพื่อขับเคลื่อนความร่วมมือด้านการคุ้มครองเด็กข้ามพรมแดนไทย – มาเลเซีย จัดโดยศูนย์อำนวยการบริหารจังหวัดชายแดนภาคใต้ (ศอ.บต.) ณ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ โดยนายปิยะศิริ วัฒนวรางกูร เลขาธิการ ศอ.บต. เป็นประธาน การประชุมดังกล่าวมีผู้แทนจากหน่วยงานภาครัฐของไทยเข้าร่วม อาทิ กระทรวงการพัฒนาสังคมและความมั่นคงของมนุษย์ กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ สถานเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์ สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู สถานกงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองปีนัง ตลอดจนอาสาสมัครคนไทยในมาเลเซีย และผู้แทนองค์กรภาคประชาสังคมด้านการคุ้มครองดูแลเด็กในมาเลเซีย 8 องค์กร ได้แก่ (1) UNICEF Malaysia (2) IOM Malaysia (3) SUKA (4) El Shaddai (5) Social Work without Border (6) Global Shepherds (7) Tenaganita และ (8) Malaysia Relief Agency

ระหว่างการประชุม องค์กรภาคประชาสังคมได้บรรยายสรุปบทบาทและการดำเนินงานด้านการคุ้มครองเด็ก รวมถึงการให้ความช่วยเหลือเด็กไทยที่ประสบปัญหาในมาเลเซีย พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนข้อคิดเห็นร่วมกับหน่วยงานภาครัฐของไทย โดยเฉพาะการจัดทำแนวปฏิบัติด้านการคุ้มครองเด็กไทยในมาเลเซีย การจัดหาสถานพักพิงที่เหมาะสมระหว่างรอการส่งกลับประเทศไทย ตลอดจนแนวทางการยกระดับกลไกการคุ้มครองเด็กไทยในมาเลเซียผ่านมาตรการความร่วมมือต่าง ๆ

โอกาสนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้เน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของการดำเนินมาตรการเชิงป้องกันในระยะยาว เพื่อลดจำนวนและความเสี่ยงของคนไทย รวมทั้งเด็กไทย ที่ตกเป็นผู้ประสบปัญหาในมาเลเซีย ควบคู่กับการพัฒนากลไกการคุ้มครองและการช่วยเหลือที่มีประสิทธิภาพยิ่งขึ้น และเข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองอาหารกลางวัน ร่วมกับคณะผู้แทนไทย ณ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ โดยมีเอกอัครราชทูต ณ กรุงกัวลาลัมเปอร์เป็นเจ้าภาพ

Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu Participates in a Discussion to Advance Thailand–Malaysia Cross-Border Child Protection Cooperation

On 4 June 2026, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, attended a discussion on advancing Thailand–Malaysia cross-border child protection cooperation, organised by the Southern Border Provinces Administrative Centre (SBPAC) at the Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Piyasiri Wattanavarangkul, Secretary-General of SBPAC. Participants included representatives from relevant Thai government agencies, namely Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Royal Thai Consulate-General in Kota Bharu, and Royal Thai Consulate-General in Penang. Also in attendance were the Thai volunteers in Malaysia and representatives from eight civil society organisations (CSOs) dedicated to child protection in Malaysia, namely (1) UNICEF Malaysia, (2) IOM Malaysia, (3) SUKA, (4) El Shaddai, (5) Social Work without Borders, (6) Global Shepherds, (7) Tenaganita, and (8) Malaysia Relief Agency.

During the meeting, the participating CSOs briefed attendees on their respective roles and operations in child protection, including assistance provided to Thai children experiencing distress in Malaysia. The discussions also provided an opportunity for exchanges of views between the Thai government agencies and the CSOs, particularly on development of standard operating procedures for the protection of Thai children in Malaysia, provision of appropriate temporary shelters for Thai children awaiting repatriation to Thailand, and possible measures to strengthen child protection mechanisms for Thai children in Malaysia through enhanced cooperation.

On this occasion, the Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu emphasised the importance of implementing long-term preventive measures to reduce both the number of Thai nationals, including Thai children, encountering distress in Malaysia and their vulnerability to such situations, alongside efforts to further strengthen child protection and assistance mechanisms.

After the meeting, the Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu attended a reception luncheon kindly hosted by the Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia at the Royal Thai Embassy, together with members of the Thai delegation.
