เมื่อวันที่ 24 ธันวาคม 2567 นายภาษิต จูฑะพุทธิ กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู พร้อมด้วยข้าราชการสถานกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะ Dato’ Haji Mohd Yusoff bin Mamat ผบ.ตร. รัฐกลันตัน ณ สำนักงานตำรวจรัฐกลันตัน เพื่อแนะนำตัวในโอกาสที่ ผบ.ตร. รัฐกลันตันเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ โดยกงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการเข้ารับตำแหน่ง ผบ.ตร. รัฐกลันตัน ซึ่งเป็นตำแหน่งสำคัญ และขอบคุณความร่วมมือและการสนับสนุนจากสำนักงานตำรวจรัฐกลันตันที่มีให้กับฝ่ายไทยในห้วงที่ผ่านมา และหวังจะสานต่อความร่วมมือที่ดีระหว่างกันต่อไป

โอกาสนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือถึงมาตรการของฝ่ายมาเลเซียในการเพิ่มความเข้มงวดของการบังคับใช้กฎหมายคนเข้าเมือง นับตั้งแต่วันที่ 1 ธันวาคม 2567 เพื่อควบคุมการลักลอบเข้าเมืองและการค้าสิ่งผิดกฎหมายตามแนวชายแดน โดยเฉพาะยาเสพติด ซึ่งเป็นภัยคุกคามร่วมกัน นอกจากนี้ กงสุลใหญ่ฯ ได้หารือและขอบคุณฝ่ายมาเลเซียที่ดำเนินมาตรการบรรเทาผลกระทบจากการบังคับใช้กฎหมายอย่างเข้มงวดต่อนักเรียนและครูสอนศาสนา

Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu paid a courtesy call on the Chief of the Police Officer (CPO) of Kelantan on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty, and discussed measure to curb illegal border crossing.

On 24 December 2024, Mr. Phasit Chudabuddhi, Consul-General of Thailand to Kota Bharu, together with officials of the Royal Thai Consulate-General, paid a courtesy call on Dato’ Haji Mohd Yusoff bin Mamat, Chief of the Police Officer (CPO) of Kelantan, at Kelantan CPO office, on the occasion of the latter’s assumption of duty. Consul-General congratulated CPO on the assumption of the important role of Kelantan CPO and expressed gratitude for good collaboration and support from the Royal Malaysian Police in Kelantan extended to Thai side over the years, as well as wished for further mutual cooperation.

On this occasion, the two sides exchanged views on Malaysia’s measures to tighten enforcement of its immigration law, starting from 1 December 2024, in an attempt to curb mutual threat of illegal crossings and unlawful trading, particularly narcotics, along Thailand - Malaysia border. Consul-General also discussed and expressed appreciation to Malaysian side for providing relief measure to Thai students and religious teachers impacted by strict border crossing control.
