เมื่อวันอาทิตย์ที่ 18 กันยายน พ.ศ. 2559 นายยอด แสงสุวรรณ ชาวมาเลเซียเชื้อสายไทย (คนสยาม) ได้นำข้าราชการอำเภอทานาห์เมร่าห์เข้าพบหารือกับนายอัชมัน แตเปาะ กงสุล เพื่อประสานงานกรณีที่เจ้าหน้าที่อำเภอทานาห์เมร่าห์จะไปอำเภอเมือง จ. กาญจนบุรี ต้นเดือนตุลาคม ศกนี้ เพื่อศึกษาดูงานการก่อสร้างและบริหารสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว เนื่องจากอำเภอทานาเมร่าห์จะก่อสร้างสวนที่ระลึกในลักษณะเดียวกันกับสะพานข้ามแม่น้ำแคว

On Sunday, 18 September 2016 Mr. Eh Chot Cha Chan, Siamese, and an official of Tanah Merah District of Kelantan State met with Mr. Azman Taepoh, Consul, at the Royal Thai Consulate-General. They discussed the district's planned trip to Muang District, Kanchanaburi Province, early next month to learn how the Bridge of the River Kwai had been constructed and managed as a tourist place of interest, because Tanah Merah District also has a plan to construct a park in commemoration of those who suffered the same hardship as in the construction of the bridge and to run it as a tourist place.
