เมื่อวันที่ 20 สิงหาคม 2560 ทีมนักกีฬาขี่ม้าทีมชาติไทยได้เข้าร่วมการแข่งขันขี่ม้าประเภทมาราธอน ระยะทาง 80 กม. ในการแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 29 ในปี 2560 ที่สนาม Terengganu International Endurance Park รัฐตรังกานู ประเทศมาเลเซีย ซึ่งนักกีฬาขี่ม้าทีมชาติไทยชนะการแข่งขันได้เหรียญเงินในประเภททีม และเหรียญทองแดงในประเภทบุคคล ทั้งนี้ ดร. ไพฑูรย์ สงค์แก้ว กงสุลใหญ่ ณ เมืองโกตาบารู ได้ไปชมการแข่งขัน และเข้าร่วมในพิธีมอบเหรียญรางวัล รวมทั้งเป็นเจ้าภาพเลี้ยงอาหารค่ำเพื่อแสดงความยินดีกับทีมนักกีฬาขี่ม้าทีมชาติไทยด้วย

On 20 August 2017, Thailand Equestrian Endurance Team participated in the Equestrian Endurance race in the 29th South East Asian Games at Terengganu International Endurance Park in Terengganu State, Malaysia. Thailand Equestrian Endurance Team won the Silver medal in the Endurance team category and Bronze medal in the Endurance individual category. Dr. Paitoon Songkaeo, Thai Consul-General to Kota Bharu, went to see the competitions and joined the handover ceremony of the Medals for the Winners. And in the evening, the Thai Consul-General hosted a congratulatory dinner to the Thai National Equestrian Endurance Team.
